I have negotiated with an online retailer for a discounted equipment package.  For 2^nd-4^th graders you can buy a full set of equipment for (helmet, stick, pads) for well under $200. For 5^th-6^th graders the cost is a few dollars more because the stick for the 2^nd-4^th graders would not be legal at that level. The stick I am speaking about is the Warrior Mako. I believe this is a great stick for beginners and could probably even be used in 5^th-6^th grade.

 

I know many of you receiving this already have equipment but you can forward to parents who are considering signing up for the first time.

 

To be honest, the site is a little had to use and you need to type in the words “Brookside Youth” in the coupon code area at checkout to receive full discount.   They cannot advertise the full discount when you initially get to the site.  You have the choice of 2 helmets. The Cascade CVP helmet is a bit more expensive but a great helmet which adjusts in the back for future growth although there are a few sizes to choose from.  Both helmets offered are nice helmets. If you get frustrated with the site, don’t hesitate to call the company and order over the phone: 800-240-0178.

I hope this helps. I know going into Dicks can be daunting finding the right equipment at a good price.  They don't have a good selection for the beginning player.

 

Also, keep in mind that if you want to order shorts when you register for the Spring season, you need to have your registration in by February 15!
