Registration Now Open
Registration is open for Brookside Youth Lacrosse. Before registering, keep in mind that if you registered last year you do not need to create a new account. Your old account will work. Also, if your spouse and you have the same email in your respective profiles you will receive two emails for each message targeted at you from the league website. If your child has your email in their profile you will receive another email for that as well. Review those profiles for duplicate emails addresses and edit as necessary.

Here are some of the changes for this year:
-We are moving to team owned jerseys for both boys and girls. Those who bought last years jerseys will get credit but need to turn in their jerseys from last year. Here is link to the details of this change: Brookside Jersey Policy
-We will also be playing our games on artificial surface fields at Shawnee Mission East High School and other turf fields across the city. We hope to alleviate the constant rain outs from last year.
-We want to start practice for 5th grade and up earlier than last year in gyms which I am working on securing.
- Championship weekend is going to be played the weekend after Memorial Day. This change combined with starting the practices in early March make for a much more substantial season.
Here are some answers to frequently asked questions:
Where do I buy equipment? Dick’s Sporting goods in Leawood has a lacrosse section. You can also buy a Brookside Lacrosse package from QCLax.com for under $200 for all equipment. Read about the details of the package here: QCLax.com/Brookside Package Info
My child is not playing this year. Where do I sell the equipment? Brookside Youth Lacrosse is interested in buying equipment back. Please contact me if this is the case.
Do I have to live in Brookside to play for the club? No, but if you live in an area that is currently served by one of the other lacrosse clubs we would encourage you to have your child play for them.
What equipment is needed? Lacrosse or hockey should pads, elbow pads, gloves and lacrosse specific helmet. Mouth piece and cleats are also required.
Lacrosse sounds like a dangerous sport. Will my son get hurt? In grades 2nd-6th there is no body checking allowed only stick checks although body contact does happen at that level similar to basketball. 7th-8th does allow body checking similar to hockey but since there are no boards and the space is much larger checking is much more limited than hockey.
Where do you practice? Bingham Junior High located near 75th and Wornall in KCMO.
How often do you practice? Boys 5th-8th will practice twice a week with a game on Sundays. Boys 2nd-4th may practice once or twice a week with a game on the weekend. It is TBD for Girls how many times a week we will practice.
When does the main season run? The main season will start just after spring break and this year we will have the championship weekend the week after Memorial Day. Practice will start the beginning of March.
Does my child need previous playing experience? No, we are a developmental rec league. Anyone interested is welcome to participate.
How will teams be divided? We will divide up the teams within each division into equal teams.
I look forward to the best season yet!
